Eagles 2022 NFL futures odds, trends: Philadelphia has received more money at sportsbook than any other team to finish with most wins

Will the Eagles lead the NFL in victories this season? Many bettors at Caesars Sportsbook think so.

The Philadelphia Eagles were a solid 9-8 last yea  and a Wild-Card team in the first season under Coach Nick Sirianni and with Jalen Hurts as the full-time quarterback. It usually takes at least 13 victories to lead the NFL in wins -- as was the case last year in the league's first 17-game season -- and many bettors at Caesars Sportsbook apparently think Philly can get there even though the team is a +2500 longer shot to lead the league in victories. Tampa Bay and Buffalo have the shortest odds at +250 apiece.

Here's a sentence I didn't expect to type: The Eagles have not only taken more action than any team to lead the NFL in wins, but more than every other NFC team combined. That's interesting, considering the jury is still out on Hurts, although Philly did get him an excellent receiver by trading for Tennessee's AJ Brown at the draft.

The dual-threat Hurts has seen his MVP odds drop from +4000 to +3000 recently. He's ninth in both tickets (3.5%) and handle (3.4%) at Caesars – one Indiana bettor put down $1,000 on Hurts to win at +4000 for a potential win of $40,000. Brown is +2500 to lead the NFL in receiving TDs after only logging five last year (granted he only in 13 games with a run-first Titans team; Brown had 11 TDs in 2020) and has received the third-most money on that prop.

Caesars opened the Eagles at over/under nine wins but that has been bet up to 9.5, with the Over a -140 favorite. The Over has taken 88.6% of the tickets and 90.7% of the handle, and Philadelphia is one of six teams whose win total Over has collected at least 90.0% of the handle put down on the team.

The Dallas Cowboys not long ago were -150 to win the NFC East with the Eagles at +330, but those numbers are now +135 and +150. The Eagles have generated more money to win the division than the Cowboys, Giants and Commanders combined with 50.5% of the handle.

On the yes/no to make the playoffs prop, the Eagles have taken the second-most money in the NFL on yes, trailing only trailing the Saints. No was originally favored at -130 for Philadelphia and yes is now -160, as it has drawn 88.1% of the tickets and 98.9% of the handle.

No Eagles player has won NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year, but second-round linebacker Nakobe Dean from Georgia opened at +2500 and is now +1800. He's first in handle at 19.5% and third in tickets at 9.4%.

Philadelphia is -4 for Week 1 in Detroit.
