Commanders vs. Giants line, picks: Advanced NFL computer model reveals selections for Sunday Night Football matchup

SportsLine's projection model generated selections for Sunday Night Football between Washington and New York

The Washington Commanders will host the NFC East-rival New York Giants in a key matchup on Sunday Night Football. Washington (7-5-1) has gone 3-0-1 in its last four games to climb into sixth place in the conference, while New York (7-5-1) has dropped to seventh thanks to a four-game winless streak (0-3-1). The adversaries played to a 20-20 tie in New York in Week 13.

Kickoff at FedExField in Landover, Md. is set for 8:20 p.m. ET. Washington is a 4-point favorite in the latest Commanders vs. Giants odds at Caesars Sportsbook, while the over/under for total points scored is 40.5. Before making any Giants vs. Commanders picks, you NEED to check out the NFL predictions from the SportsLine Projection Model.

The model, which simulates every NFL game 10,000 times, is up more than $7,000 for $100 players on top-rated NFL picks since its inception. The model enters Week 15 of the 2022 NFL season on an incredible 157-113 run on top-rated NFL picks that dates back to the 2017 season. The model is also a sizzling 21-5 on straight-up NFL picks over the past two weeks.

The model also ranked in the top 10 on NFLPickWatch four of the past six years on straight-up NFL picks and beat more than 94% of CBS Sports Football Pick'em players four times during that span. Anyone who has followed it is WAY UP.

The model knows Washington's four-game losing streak early in the season is a distant memory, as the team has gone 6-1-1 since. The Commanders lost five straight meetings with the Giants before sweeping the season series in 2021 and recording a touchdown with less than two minutes remaining two weeks ago to salvage a tie. Washington has been getting strong play from its defense, as the team is fourth in total defense (310.5 yards allowed) this season and second in points allowed over its last eight games (16).

The model also knows New York is in a downward spiral, going 1-4-1 over its last six games after winning six of its first seven contests. Saquon Barkley is fourth in the league in rushing with 1,083 yards but has amassed only 152 over his last four games after gaining the same amount in Week 10 against Houston. Daniel Jones has been anything but a strong primetime performer during his career, going 0-9 with 12 touchdown tosses, 13 interceptions and a 74.2 passer rating under the bright lights.

Now, the model has set its sights on Commanders vs. Giants on Sunday Night Football. We can tell you the model is leaning Over the total, and it also says one side of the spread hits in well over 50% of simulations! You ABSOLUTELY need to see it before locking in any NFL picks.
