NFL fans will be treated to an extreme rarity in the second game of the Monday night NFL doubleheader when rookie Jayden Daniels and the Washington Commanders (1-1) visit Joe Burrow and the Cincinnati Bengals (0-2). The game marks only the second quarterback matchup in NFL history between Heisman Trophy winners from the same school. The desperate Bengals are 7.5-point favorites with a total of 47, and weather could be a minor factor. This is the usual 8:15 p.m. ET Monday kickoff but will be aired on ABC, with Jaguars-Bills starting at 7:30 on ESPN.

Burrow won the 2019 Heisman Trophy (and national title) at LSU and was the No. 1 overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft, while Daniels won the 2023 Heisman in Baton Rouge and was chosen No. 2 overall in this year's draft -- he is the current Offensive Rookie of the Year favorite. The only other QB matchup in NFL history between Heisman winners from the same school has been former Oklahoma stars Kyler Murray and Baker Mayfield (Murray leads 3-0). 

While not much is expected from the Commanders this season with the franchise rebuilding around Daniels and first-year head coach Dan Quinn, it's nothing short of a must-win game for the Bengals considering they had Super Bowl aspirations -- but no team has won it all following a 0-3 start. The Bengals, who haven't started 0-3 since 2019, look to become the team in NFL history to finish with a winning record after starting 0-2 in three straight seasons. They are still -165 favorites to make the playoffs with No at +140. Starting wideout Tee Higgins, a soon-to-be coveted free agent, is expected to make his season debut tonight off injury.
