College football odds, lines, spreads: Picks, predictions, betting advice for Week 8, 2023 from proven model

The SportsLine Projection Model, which has generated more than $2,000 for $100 college football bettors since its inception, has revealed its college football picks for Week 8

The Week 8 college football schedule is loaded with star-studded showdowns, including No. 3 Ohio State vs. No. 7 Penn State at noon ET on Saturday. The Buckeyes are 4-point favorites in the Week 8 college football odds from SportsLine consensus. No. 11 Alabama (-9) hosts No. 17 Tennessee in an SEC on CBS matchup later in the day. Two other top-25 matchups are No. 4 Florida State (-14) vs. No. 16 Duke and No. 18 USC (-7) vs. No. 14 Utah.

Before making any college football picks for those games or others in Week 8, be sure to see what the SportsLine Projection Model has to say.

The SportsLine Projection Model simulates every FBS college football game 10,000 times. Since its inception, it has generated a stunning profit of more than $2,000 for $100 players on its top-rated college football picks against the spread. Anyone who has followed it has seen HUGE returns.

Now, it has studied the latest college football odds (see the latest college football lines for each matchup this week on our college football odds page), simulated every single play for every Week 8 game, and the results are in.

One of the college picks the model is high on during Week 8: Houston (+23.5) easily stays within the spread against No. 8 Texas at 4 p.m. ET on Saturday afternoon. The Cougars sprung an outright upset against West Virginia last Thursday, beating the Mountaineers in a 41-39 shootout. Texas is coming off its first loss of the season, falling to Oklahoma in the Red River rivalry. The model expects Houston to keep this game much closer than the betting market is suggesting, with the Cougars covering the spread in more than 70% of simulations.

Another prediction: No. 5 Washington (-27.5) cruises to a blowout win against Arizona State in a 10:30 p.m. ET kickoff at Husky Stadium. Washington's impressive season continued last week when it got past then-No. 8 Oregon in a 36-33 final, improving to 6-0 overall this season. The Huskies have scored more than 30 points in every game, and senior quarterback Michael Penix Jr. is currently the Heisman Trophy favorite. He is expected to have another huge game against Arizona State, which is why Washington is covering the spread well over 60% of the time.

The model has also made the call on who wins and covers in every other FBS matchup, and it's calling for multiple underdogs to win outright!
