Bills vs. Dolphins betting preview: Odds, picks, props, trends, injuries, weather and more for Week 2 Thursday Night Football

Before you lock in your plays for Thursday's Buffalo at Miami NFL game, check out our full betting preview.

NFL games tend to look different when both teams are on a short turnaround, and that's the case for the first time this season with tonight's AFC East rivalry game to kick off Week 2 as the Buffalo Bills (1-0) visit the Miami Dolphins (1-0). The Dolphins have been dominated in this series of late and are banged up at tailback, yet enter as 2.5-point favorites with a total of 48.5. Rain could be a factor early on.

Buffalo is 11-1 in the past 12 meetings and won as a 2.5-point favorite at Hard Rock Stadium in Week 18 last season, 21-14, to capture the AFC East for the fourth straight season. It was a pretty impressive feat considering Buffalo was three games back of Miami with only five left to go. Josh Allen threw for 359 yards and two scores in that victory and has now thrown multiple touchdown passes in 13 straight games vs. the Dolphins (including the playoffs), the longest such streak by any quarterback against a team in NFL history. Allen is +105 to throw for at least two scores tonight.

While the Patriots looked better than expected in Week 1, the Jets looked offensively inept again even with Aaron Rodgers back. Thus, I fully expect the AFC East to again come down to these two teams, with the Dolphins as +165 favorites to win the division and the Bills at +195. Needless to say, tonight's winner gets a big leg up, with the rematch coming in Week 9 in Buffalo.

One storyline tonight features former All-Pro safety Jordan Poyer facing his former Bills teammates for the first time. He spent 2017-23 with Buffalo and registered 22 interceptions, 35 tackles for loss, 48 passes defensed, 11 sacks and nine forced fumbles in 107 regular-season games. Poyer was released by Buffalo in March, which saved the team $5.72 million. Miami snapped him up on a one-year deal, surely in part because of how he could help the Dolphins finally beat the Bills with some inside information.
