Bengals vs. Giants betting preview: Odds, picks, props, trends, injuries and more for Week 6 Sunday Night Football matchup
Two teams at the bottom of their division will square off when the New York Giants host the Cincinnati Bengals in the Week 6 Sunday Night Football game at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, N.J. The Giants (2-3) sit at the bottom of the NFC East but have won two of their last three games. Meanwhile the Bengals (1-4) are in the cellar of the AFC North after last week's overtime loss to the Ravens. Cincinnati is a 3.5-point favorite in the latest Bengals vs. Giants odds, while the over/under is 48. Kickoff is set for 8:20 p.m. ET.
After losing to the Vikings and Commanders to start the season, New York has bounced back over the last three games. A big reason for the Giants' success has been the improved play of quarterback Daniel Jones. Over the last four games, the 27-year-old quarterback has completed 67.6% of his passes for 952 yards and six touchdowns against just one interception (on a Hail Mary attempt at the end of the Cowboys game two weeks ago). His 99.3 passer rating over that time ranks 10th in the league, ahead of more heralded quarterbacks such as Jared Goff, Justin Herbert, Josh Allen, C.J. Stroud, Aaron Rodgers and, yes, even Patrick Mahomes.
Jones has thrown two touchdowns and zero interceptions in three of his last four games, and his yards per attempt has increased every week this season. On Sunday, however, he and the rest of the Giants offense will play their second game without star rookie receiver Malik Nabers, who is out while undergoing concussion protocol.Â
Meanwhile the Bengals are coming off a tough loss in which a poor hold on a field goal attempt prevented Cincinnati from winning in overtime. The loss only increased the scrutiny on coach Zac Taylor, who failed to reach the playoffs with the Bengals last season.
Cincinnati has been getting MVP-caliber play from quarterback Joe Burrow. The former No. 1 overall pick leads the league in touchdown passes (12) and ranks second in the NFL in passer rating (113.6). In last week's loss to the Ravens he completed 30-of-39 passes for 392 yards and five touchdowns against one interception.
The Bengals' problem has been defense. Cincinnati gives up 29.0 points per game, which is the second worst in the NFL, better than only Carolina (33.0). The Bengals also rank 30th in rushing yards per game allowed (151.4) and 29th in sacks (six).
