Baylor vs. Oklahoma State Big 12 basketball odds, bracketology: Bears star freshman Keyonte George out vs. bubble-riding Cowboys

Baylor will be without freshman star Keyonte George tonight at Oklahoma State.

ESPN's primary Big Monday Big 12 college basketball game features No. 9 Baylor at unranked and struggling Oklahoma State. The Bears will be without one of the nation's top freshmen in Keyonte George, who is dealing with a sprained ankle. Baylor is therefore just a 1.5-point favorite at Caesars Sportsbook. George, a Texas native who was ranked as the No. 8 freshman recruit overall in the Class of 2022 by sister site 247Sports, went down in Saturday's 81-72 win over No. 8 Texas. George suffered the injury 8 1/2 minutes into the game, coming up limping near midcourt after a turnover with the Bears trailing the Longhorns 18-4. It's impressive that Baylor won without him.

George is officially day-to-day with a mild sprain and will be reevaluated ahead of the Bears' final game of the regular season against Iowa State on Saturday. He is averaging 16.3 points per game this season, which ranks fifth among freshmen in Division I. George's 12 games of 20 points or more are a school record for a freshman. He'll be a lottery pick this summer in the NBA Draft.

Baylor (21-8, 10-6 Big 12) will likely finish anywhere from second to fourth in the Big 12 regular-season standings – technically it can tie Kansas for the crown, but Baylor would have to win out and have the Jayhawks (among other things) for that to happen. Rather amazingly, Baylor has won 76 straight games when shooting at a higher percentage than its opponent.

While Baylor will be in the NCAA Tournament regardless of what happens in the rest of the regular season or the Big 12 Tournament, Oklahoma State (16-13, 7-9) needs this game much more. The Cowboys are among CBS Sports' "Last Four In" for the Big Dance. ESPN ranks them similarly -- both have OK State as a No. 11 seed competing in the First Four.

Oklahoma State would likely fall off the bubble with a fifth straight loss here. The team badly misses senior guard Avery Anderson (11.1 PPG, 3.5 RPG, 3.4 APG), who has been out since Feb. 1 with to a broken wrist and won't play on Monday. It's unclear when Anderson will return.

Baylor beat Oklahoma State 74-58 on Jan. 14 in Waco. George had eight points, eight rebounds and five assists, and Anderson 11 points and three assists. OSU's Moussa Cisse, who shared the Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year award last season, was out injured then. The 7-foot-1 junior forward is back now and averaging 6.5 points, 7.9 rebounds and 2.0 blocks per game.
