2025 Sentry odds, predictions: Best bets to make for The Sentry at the Plantation Course at Kapalua
After a short offseason, the PGA Tour returns for the 2025 season with many of its heavy hitters slated to tee it up at the 2025 Sentry. While the annual opener in Kapalua often welcomes all the winners from the season before, this year it will be without some notable names.
World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler had to withdraw from the tournament following an accident on Christmas Day. Breaking glass while preparing dinner, Scheffler was forced to undergo surgery on the palm of his right hand to remove glass fragments from the affected area. He is expected to return to action in three to four weeks, but in the meantime world No. 3 Xander Schauffele headlines the field.
Schauffele tops the odds board at +500 and a field where not only Scheffler is missing but also Tony Finau (knee) and potentially Viktor Hovland (toe). The Norwegian will attempt to play, but he recently broke his pinky toe on his bed frame and could be listed as questionable if this was an NFL injury report.
Schauffele seeks his second tournament title and is joined by his fellow Americans Justin Thomas and Collin Morikawa who both hope for a fast start following a 2024 season where both were winless. Sungjae Im, Patrick Cantlay and Ludvig Aberg also plan to tee it up and also attempt to break their winless drought in what is sure to be a low-scoring affair in the PGA Tour's opening evet of 2025.
