It was an odd week on the PGA Tour last week, and the 54-hole finish at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am threw most everyone for a loop. The exception is, of course, winner Wyndham Clark, who has now won three times since last spring. He'll have no time to rest as he returns home to play in his local tournament, the 2024 WM Phoenix Open.

Numerous PGA Tour players call the Scottsdale area their home in addition to Clark. Max Homa resides in the vicinity and is among the betting favorites this week to claim his first title of 2024. Despite the comfort level and knowledge of TPC Scottsdale and the surrounding area, those who may live near by are all looking up at Scottie Scheffler.

The world No. 1 comes into this week as the two-time defending champion. Claiming his first PGA Tour victory here in 2022, Scheffler fended off charges by Nick Taylor and Jon Rahm to successfully claim the crown for the second straight year in 2023. The Texan has not yet won in 2024, but he is continuing to put himself in position. In the three tournaments where he has competed, Scheffler has held the 36-hole lead twice at both The Sentry and AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am.

He will look to convert those fast starts into wins, as will Xander Schauffele and Justin Thomas. Winless since 2022, the pair of Americans are playing some of their best golf as of late and look keen on returning to winner's circle at a venue where they both possess great history.
