2024 Valspar Championship odds, predictions: Best bets to make at the Copperhead Course by proven golf expert
The rest of the PGA Tour will receive a reprieve from their suffering as Scottie Scheffler takes this week off. With the world No. 1 on the sidelines after back-to-back victories at the Arnold Palmer Invitational and the Players Championship, the 2024 Valspar Championship could result in another longshot winner on the PGA Tour.
Last season, Taylor Moore came through at 10 under edging out the likes of Adam Schenk, Tommy Fleetwood and Jordan Spieth down the stretch. Spieth is in this field once again as he looks for his second career victory at the Copperhead Course and his first in nearly two years on the PGA Tour.
The three-time major champion is joined by some of U.S. Ryder Cup teammates including last week's runner-up at TPC Sawgrass, Xander Schauffele. Schauffele now has 13 runner-up finishes on the PGA Tour and looks to break through and into the winner's circle for the first time since the end of 2022.
Coincidentally, that is also the last time Justin Thomas raised a trophy. Sam Burns needs no introduction at the Valspar Championship as he won this tournament in 2021 and 2022 while Brian Harman hopes to keep his momentum rolling after his second-place finish at TPC Sawgrass.
