2024 NFL Week 13 betting power ratings: Ravens clearly ahead of the pack, plus how to value all 32 teams

Get the edge over the sportsbooks in Week 13 and beyond by developing a power rating system to stay ahead of the lines

The Ravens are unlikely to be the No. 1 seed in the AFC, sitting 2.5 games behind a Chiefs team that owns the tiebreaker thanks to a Week 1 win. The Ravens aren't even a lock to win their division as they remain in a fight with the Steelers, who already have one win against them. But even with those two things being true, the Ravens are clearly the best team in the NFL at this point and worthy of the No. 1 spot in my spread power ratings.

After two early punts on Monday, Baltimore had no issues moving the ball against what had been an elite Chargers defense prior to the last two weeks, so much so that they still rank No. 1 in points allowed per game despite giving up 57 against the Bengals and Chargers. The Ravens scored four TDs and a field goal on their next five drives to turn a 10-0 deficit into a 30-16 lead as the defense stepped up to hold the Chargers to just 285 yards on the day, even while missing linebacker Roquan Smith.

The NFL schedule has thrown good defenses and good offenses in Baltimore's way the last four weeks as it has squared off with the Broncos, Bengals, Steelers and Chargers, three teams that look headed for the playoffs and the other hoping one of those three falls off so they can make a run at the postseason. One more test awaits before the bye: the Eagles, a team coming off its own dominant road primetime win. But I have the Eagles clearly on the second tier of my spread power ratings with three other teams, all at least 1.5 points behind the Ravens.

What are NFL spread power ratings? You can check out the explainer in how to build and maintain NFL power ratings in our Week 1 version of this column. Or, you can read on to see my ratings for every team and where I think the market is off this week. I went 636-534-34 (+4899) on ATS picks from 2017-23 and even better with my top five picks each week, going 428-327-25 (56.7%) from 2015-23 in the big Las Vegas spread picks contests. My power ratings have been a big part of maintaining that success.
