An exciting conclusion at the Rocket Mortgage Classic leads into the 2024 John Deere Classic at TPC Deere Run. Without many of the top players teeing it up this week — similar to last — those in need of a strong summer stretch will be licking their lips at the prospects of what could be this week in Silvis, Illinois.

Patrick Cantlay, the pre-tournament favorite, has withdrawn. That means Jordan Spieth is the biggest name near the top of the odds board. The two-time John Deere Classic champion has endured a poor 2024 season, with his last top-10 finish coming at the Valero Texas Open in his final start before the Masters.

Speith seeks a resurgence in his game while Sepp Straka seeks his second straight John Deere Classic title. Racing to the finish line on Sunday last year, Straka had a chance to shoot 59 in the final round before making double bogey on the 72nd hole. Settling for a 62 instead, Straka's score was still enough to hand him his second career victory on the PGA Tour.

Other notable players in the field include Sungjae Im, Jason Day, Denny McCarthy and J.T. Poston, who won this tournament two seasons ago.
