2024 John Deere Classic odds, picks, Fantasy golf power rankings: PGA Tour predictions, expert best bets

Eric Cohen reveals his golf best bets and top players for the John Deere Classic at TPC Deere Run in Silvis, IL

Cam Davis won his second Rocket Mortgage Classic in dramatic fashion on Sunday after Akshay Bhatia shockingly three-putted on the 18th green in what was a surprising ending to a superstar-lacking tournament. Now the PGA Tour moves on to the Quad Cities for the John Deere Classic, with potentially even less star power than we saw in Detroit last week. TPC Deere Run hosts the event for a field of 156 players and $8 million in prize money. This par-71 course plays at nearly 7,300 yards and will be ripe for birdies. Bogey avoidance and successful putting will be keys here.

With Patrick Cantlay's Monday defection, the top of the odds board is clumped together with Jordan Spieth, Sungjae Im, and last year's winner, Sepp Straka at +1600 odds. Last week's co-runner up, Aaron Rai, is +2000 followed by Maverick McNealy and Denny McCarthy at +2200. Also a co-runner up at last week's Rocket Mortgage Classic, Davis Thompson is listed at +2500 odds.

With the PGA Tour making its annual stop in the Quad Cities, who can you trust for your John Deere Classic golf picks? Before you set your John Deere Classic golf lineups or make any PGA Tour bets, you NEED to see the Fantasy golf rankings from Fantasy expert Eric Cohen.

Cohen is an avid golf bettor who correctly predicted the pre-tournament outright winner of the 2024 U.S. Open (Bryson DeChambeau +2000), 2024 Players Championship (Scottie Scheffler +550), 2023 Rocket Mortgage Classic (Rickie Fowler +1400), 2023 PGA Championship (Brooks Koepka +2000), 2023 Honda Classic (Chris Kirk +3500), 2022 Open Championship (Cameron Smith +2200), 2022 U.S. Open (Matt Fitzpatrick +2500), and 2022 Phoenix Open (Scheffler's first career victory at +2800). Last week, Cohen's gave out three of the runners-up among his top five picks and both of his longshots finished in the top 20.

Eric is a contributor to SportsLine's YouTube shows including "Early Edge" and is the host of "The Early Wedge" golf show (live on Tuesday, July 2nd at 7 p.m. ET). Anyone who has followed Cohen's predictions is up big! Now, Cohen has studied the field set to play at TPC Deere Run and revealed his John Deere Classic Fantasy golf rankings.

We can tell you he is comfortable backing 2021 John Deere Classic champion Lucas Glover at 60-1 odds. "The last six winners of this event have been at least +5000, so I had to add a longer shot to these rankings towards the top. In his last four events here, Glover has finishes of T10-1-MC-T6. In his last 11 John Deere Classics, he has gained strokes ball striking in each one of them."

On the other hand, Cohen is fading Jordan Spieth, one of the co-favorites at 16-1 odds. "I know that he's won here twice and the brief course history in general is fantastic, but betting on Spieth at these odds seems like a colossal mistake. In his last 14 events, Spieth's best finish is a T10 in San Antonio. In fact, his next highest finish in those events is a T29."

Cohen is also backing several underdogs in his John Deere Classic fantasy golf picks, including a 250-1 longshot who could be a difference-maker for your Fantasy golf lineups! If this player can pull off a stunning result, it would bring a HUGE payoff and be valuable pieces for John Deere Classic golf lineups. You ABSOLUTELY need to see who it is before locking in any fantasy golf picks.
