2024 Houston Open odds, predictions: Best bets to make for Houston Open at Memorial Park
The Houston Open returns to the calendar-year schedule this week after it was formerly a member of the fall swing. Coming back to Memorial Park, the Houston Open will kick off the Texas swing as major championship season lurks just around the corner in two weeks' time.
Headlining the field is the man who has done no wrong, world No. 1 Scottie Scheffler, who looks to become the first player since Dustin Johnson to win three straight starts. Scheffler had a chance to join this small list in 2022 but was unable to with a middling start at the Zurich Classic. For context, Tiger Woods had 24 chances to win three tournaments in a row throughout his career and converted 14 times for a near 60% hit. All other players since 1997 to have an opportunity to accomplish the same have come in around a 10% success rate.
Scheffler is listed at +300 after winning the Arnold Palmer Invitational at +800 and the Players Championship at +500. Scheffler is joined in the field by the man who finished runner-up to him in both of those events, Wyndham Clark. The reigning U.S. Open champion eyes his second victory of the season and his fourth in less than 12 months while Tony Finau, Will Zalatoris and Sahith Theegala hope to get back into the winner's circle.
