The 2024 PGA Tour season is off to a roaring start as longshots have captured the first three titles of the year. Priced at 150-1, 300-1 and 500-1, the first three winners are making bettors wonder if this year will be more favorable to those down the board. The 2024 Farmers Insurance Open will test this theory as the PGA Tour remains in California for its annual visit to Torrey Pines.

Last season it was not an underdog that came through, but rather a native Californian in Max Homa. Claiming his fourth career title in his home state, Homa got the better of Keegan Bradley, Collin Morikawa and Sam Ryder to capture his sixth-career PGA Tour title.

He is among the betting favorites this week, but he is not the top name on the odds board as that honor goes to another California kid in Xander Schauffele. Schauffele has ample experience around Torrey Pines having played it in his youth and is coming off a nice T-3 finish at The American Express for the second consecutive year.

Schauffele and Homa are joined in the field by their U.S. Ryder Cup teammates Morikawa and Patrick Cantlay. The four Americans are listed as the favorite along with their European Ryder Cup counterpart Ludvig Åberg, who is set to make his tournament debut. Min Woo Lee, Bradley, Tony Finau, Sungjae Im and Jason Day are among the other notables to be playing.
