2024 CFP National Championship odds, picks: No. 1 Michigan vs. No. 2 Washington picks and predictions from proven computer model

The SportsLine Projection Model, which is up well over $2,000 since its inception, has run 10,000 simulations for the 2024 CFP national title game between the Wolverines and Huskies

The No. 1 Michigan Wolverines are set to square off against the No. 2 Washington Huskies in the 2024 College Football Playoff National Championship game on Monday. Michigan is seeking its 10th national title after posting a 27-20 overtime victory against Alabama in the Rose Bowl, while Washington aims for its second crown following its 37-31 triumph over Texas in the Sugar Bowl.

Kickoff at NRG Stadium in Houston is set for 7:30 p.m. ET. The Wolverines are 5-point favorites in the latest Michigan vs. Washington odds, while the over/under for total points scored is 55.5. Michigan is the -215 favorite on the money line (risk $215 to win $100).

Before making any Washington vs. Michigan national championship picks or college football predictions, you need to see what the SportsLine Projection Model has to say.

The model simulates every FBS college football game 10,000 times. Since its inception, it has generated a strong profit of well over $2,000 for $100 players on its top-rated college football picks against the spread. It enters the College Football Playoff National Championship game a profitable 13-9 on top-rated spread picks this season. Anyone who has followed it has seen HUGE returns!

The model knows Michigan, which won its last national championship in 1997, rallied late to force overtime against Alabama as J.J. McCarthy threw a 4-yard touchdown pass to Roman Wilson with 1:34 remaining in the fourth quarter. Blake Corum ran for a 17-yard score on the second play of OT and the Wolverines stopped Crimson Tide quarterback Jalen Milroe on fourth-and-goal from the 2-yard line to seal the victory. McCarthy finished with three TD passes after throwing just one over his previous five games while Corum's touchdown run increased his nation-leading total to 25.

The model also is aware that Washington never trailed against Texas and owned a 13-point lead midway through the fourth quarter but needed a huge play by cornerback Elijah Jackson, who knocked away a pass to Longhorns wideout Adonai Mitchell in the end zone on fourth-and-11 as time expired, to emerge victorious. Heisman Trophy runner-up Michael Penix Jr. threw for 430 yards and a pair of touchdowns as the Huskies extended their winning streak to 21 games. Each of Washington's last 10 wins were by 10 points or fewer, which is the longest such streak in Division I since 1973. Running back Dillon Johnson is dealing with a leg injury but is expected to play.

SportsLine's model has simulated Michigan vs. Washington in the 2024 CFP National Championship Game 10,000 times, and the results are in. We can tell you that the model is leaning Over on the total, and it also says one side of the spread hits in almost 60% of simulations! You absolutely need to see it before locking in your own picks.
