The PGA Tour continues the FedEx Cup Fall this week with a brand-new event, the 2024 Black Desert Championship. Taking place in Ivins, Utah, the Black Desert Championship will welcome a wide array of players, ranging from PGA Tour rookies to those battling to maintain their PGA Tour status.
Headlining the action is the same man who headlined the odds board at the Sanderson Farms Championship. Keith Mitchell hopes the quick turnaround will alleviate the pain of coming up just short in Jackson, Mississippi. Commanding a two-stroke lead with five holes to play, the powerful right hander was unable to play his way into a playoff with Kevin Yu and Beau Hossler needing three putts on the 72nd hole to fall just one stroke shy.
He is joined in this field by Hossler as well as a number of familiar faces who enjoyed strong 2024 seasons such as Seamus Power, Chris Kirk, Erik van Rooyen and Ben Griffin. With much up in the air around how Black Desert Resort will play in the lava fields of Utah, this week's tournament could produce another surprise winner like the last two FedEx Cup Fall events have.
So which 2024 Black Desert Championship players should you target or avoid? And which player could bring a MASSIVE payday? ... Join SportsLine right now to see Patrick McDonald's best value picks
