2024 Best Ball draft strategy: Running backs that are falling too far
The zero-RB strategy has been successful two years in a row in Best Ball. Therefore, this year people are drafting wide receivers higher than ever and the zero-RB strategy is. This makes two things happen. First, we are pushing up some wide receivers that probably shouldn't go that high in drafts. Two, we are pushing down running backs early that shouldn't go that low in drafts.
Best Ball expert Megan Shoup likes diversifying her strategy portfolio as well as player portfolio. But she is going to have more hero-RB or double hero-RB builds than the field because of the value of the early running backs.Â
Shoup was a 2022 finalist in Best Ball Mania 3 on Underdog Fantasy, one of the biggest Best Ball competitions in the world, and she emerged from a field of 470,000 entries to finish inside the top 300. She also has a very good advance rate to the playoffs historically, reaching Best Ball's postseason with more than 25% of her entries.
Shoup has shared her full 2024 top 250 Best Ball rankings exclusively for SportsLine subscribers, and below, she breaks down why she will be mixing in more running backs early vs. the field.
