After a Monday finish, the PGA Tour remains in the state of Florida for the fourth signature event of the season, the 2024 Arnold Palmer Invitational. Only the best and brightest will tee it up at Bay Hill for the second signature event that will feature a cut. Players like Justin Thomas found themselves on the wrong side of the number at the Genesis Invitational and will hope to make amends this week.

Thomas is among the favorites, but all eyes are drawn toward world No. 1 Scottie Scheffler. Scheffler came close to defending his Arnold Palmer Invitational title a season ago but ultimately fell short to Kurt Kitayama. Kitayama held off a cluster of stars including Scheffler, Rory McIlroy, Viktor Hovland and Jordan Spieth, who are all expected to factor once again.

Scheffler will relish the transition from poa annua grass green to Bermuda grass, as this is the time of season in which his game has picked up the last two years. A winner four times in 2022 and twice in 2023, Scheffler has shown to have an affinity for the early spring months on the calendar.

He will go for his second API title in three tries while McIlroy aims to collect another red cardigan as well. The big number has been a big problem for the world No. 2 in 2024, as he has carded a triple bogey in his first three starts of the PGA Tour season. Patrick Cantlay and Xander Schauffele hope to bounce back and contend after a disappointing final round at the 2024 Genesis Invitational, which Hideki Matsuyama won.
