The 2023 USFL season will begin this weekend with eight teams competing from four different hub cities across the United States. USFL Week 1 will begin on Saturday with the Philadelphia Stars vs. Memphis Showboats at 4:30 p.m. ET followed by the New Jersey Generals vs. Birmingham Stallions at 7:30 p.m. ET. On Sunday, the Michigan Panthers will take on the Houston Gamblers at noon ET and then the Pittsburgh Maulers will battle the New Orleans Breakers at 6:30 p.m. ET. "Another game featuring two new head coaches, who also have a lot of talent to work with on the roster. This will be a strength vs. question mark battle in my eyes," Hunt said. "Can the New Orleans Breakers offensive line keep the Maulers from getting pressure on talented rookie QB Aqeel Glass? Because if they can, the Breakers have the matchups on the perimeter with their receiving corps. On the other side of the field, will the Maulers be able to find explosives? The Breakers defense was talented last season and still has a lot of the core pieces up front and the Maulers weren't known as speed demons on offense last year. This could end up being a track meet, one that the Breakers are more equipped to play than Pittsburgh."
