2023 Tour Championship odds, predictions: Best bets and value plays to make for PGA Tour season finale at East Lake Golf Club
The field is set and 30 men will vie for the season-long crown as competitors descend on East Lake Golf Club for the 2023 Tour Championship. The golfer who entered the postseason No. 2 in the FedEx Cup will enter the Tour Championship No. 1 for the second straight year, as Scottie Scheffler and his runner-up performance at the BMW Championship were enough to knock Jon Rahm off from the top spot.
Scheffler will begin the week at 10 under and will hope to avenge last year's finish. Holding a five-stroke lead heading into the final day, the Texan was upended by Rory McIlroy who claimed his third FedEx Cup title — the most all-time. McIlroy will begin the week in third place at 7 under behind last week's winner Viktor Hovland at 8 under.
Rahm has struggled in the postseason thus far and has been unable to garner any momentum in his eight playoff rounds. He still holds a realistic chance to take down the FedEx Cup, but he will have to do so from four strokes behind.
Scheffler will go off as a +140 favorite to claim the title, while McIlroy is not far behind at +330. Hovland and Rahm both find themselves listed below +1000 at +500 and +800, respectively.
