The 2023 Ryder Cup begins on Friday, as the United States looks to build on its 19-9 win over Europe in 2021. The biennial event was originally scheduled for 2022, but the 2020 edition was postponed to 2021 due to COVID-19. Italy beat out Austria, Germany and Spain in the bidding war for this event, with Rome's Marco Simone Golf and Country Club serving as the host. 

Each match is worth one point in the match play event, with a total of 28 points available. All matches are played to a maximum of 18 holes, with 14.5 points required to win the Cup. Luke Donald will serve as the captain of Team Europe, while Zach Johnson is the captain of Team USA. The Americans opened as favorites but Team Europe is now the slight -105 favorite in the latest 2023 Ryder Cup odds, with Team USA at +110. A tie would return +1100.
