2023 NFL Draft odds: CJ Stroud, Anthony Richardson, Will Anderson co-favorites to be No. 3 overall pick, currently held by Cardinals, with bettors heavily favoring Stroud

Bettors believe Ohio State quarterback CJ Stroud will go third in next week's NFL Draft.

The 2023 NFL Draft starts one week from Thursday night in Kansas City, and it's now pretty apparent to oddsmakers that the Carolina Panthers will choose Alabama quarterback Bryce Young at No. 1 overall. The 2021 Heisman Trophy winner is now a whopping -2000 favorite to go first at BetMGM, and the book has major liability on him. For a while, Ohio State QB CJ Stroud was the favorite to go first, but now BetMGM is most exposed on him to go third overall even though Arizona holds that pick and has a quarterback in Kyler Murray.

Stroud, Florida quarterback Anthony Richardson and Alabama pass-rusher Will Anderson are each +250 favorites to be the third pick, but Stroud is taking easily the biggest handle (30.3%) on that prop and has the biggest share of tickets sold (24.3%). The Cardinals are likely not taking Stroud even with Murray coming off a torn ACL. The DraftKings betting favorite for the position of Arizona's first drafted player is defensive lineman/edge rusher at -175, while quarterback is +1000.

Bettors clearly expect Arizona to trade out of that third spot to a QB-needy club. Indianapolis currently sits at No. 4 and wouldn't have to pay a fortune to the Cardinals to move up just one spot and prevent another team from jumping into No. 3. The Cards could still likely get Anderson at No. 4. Atlanta (No. 8) and Tennessee (No. 11) are other trade-up candidates. The Falcons hosted Stroud for a visit on Wednesday. That Atlanta takes a QB with its first pick in the draft, wherever that pick may fall, is +900.

Early this week, Stroud was favored to go No. 2 overall to Houston, but Anderson is now the +175 leader there amid reports the Texans only had eyes for Young and may shift to defense with that pick. Anderson has taken the most tickets (19.2%) and handle (31.3%) to go second. Stroud is +250 along with Kentucky QB Will Levis.

The CBS Sports Big Board ranks Stroud as the No. 4 overall prospect behind Anderson, Young and Georgia defensive tackle Jalen Carter.
