2023 NBA free agency: Western Conference team needs, including how Suns project following Bradley Beal trade

SportsLine takes a glance at the 2023 NBA free agency period with what every team in the Western Conference needs

With the 2023 NBA Draft now complete and some of the preliminary activity accounted for, the NBA offseason is about to approach its highest gear. Trades involving big names like Bradley Beal, Chris Paul, and Kristaps Porzingis have already occurred, but a large portion of the league is waiting, at least in theory, until the fireworks truly begin on Friday, June 30. At 6 p.m. ET on that date, free agency opens across the league, and even with the moratorium to follow, there is an annual frenzy of player movement that often takes shape in a hurry.

Earlier this week, we took a glance at the 15 teams in the Eastern Conference, noting some potential needs of every club before the real madness ensues. That sets the stage for half of the NBA, with the other half to follow in this space. Things move at a rapid pace in this section of the NBA calendar, meaning the landscape could change for multiple times with a single move in any direction. The draft did substantially alter things for myriad franchises, but late June is here and this is catnip for die-hard NBA observers that live and die with each transaction cycle.

Here are the current NBA championship odds (as of Wednesday, June 27) from Caesars Sportsbook:

    • Denver Nuggets +450
    • Boston Celtics +500
    • Milwaukee Bucks +650
    • Phoenix Suns +700
