2023 Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets win total betting strategy: Brent Key sheds interim tag as QB battle looms

Veteran college football expert Bruce Marshall shares his Georgia Tech futures strategy as part of our ACC preview

If nothing else, Georgia Tech remains the answer to a pretty good college football question: Name the school for whom the Player of the Year and Coach of the Year awards are named? If you guessed Tech, you're a winner (John Heisman and Bobby Dodd)! Not to mention owning the all-time biggest win in football history (222-0 over poor Cumberland in 1916; nice guy, that Heisman!) Otherwise, not every move the Yellow Jackets have made has ended up working out too well for the past couple of generations, beginning with the decision to drop out of the SEC in the '60s (a kinship shared with Tulane, and in hoops, perhaps Holy Cross, for failing to sign up when given the chance with the Big East during its inception.)

While nailing some coaching hires, like Bobby Ross, George O'Leary, and Paul Johnson, the Ramblin' Wreck has whiffed on its share, too, whether it be native son Pepper Rodgers or Chan Gailey falling well short of expectations, forcing out the capable Bud Carson in the early '70s when he refused to throw assistants under the bus, or a well-publicized flop like Bill Lewis. And, most recently, Geoff Collins, who was already regarded as a dead man walking entering last season after three-straight three-win campaigns, and his era mercifully ended by school president Angel Cabrera.

Bruce Marshall's full breakdown of Georgia Tech's 2023 outlook, which includes how he's playing their win total, can be found below as part of SportsLine's preview of the ACC season.
