2023 Genesis Invitational picks, odds, Fantasy golf power rankings: PGA Tour predictions and best bets from top golf expert
Another huge potential payday and the hospitality of Tiger Woods means another loaded PGA Tour field at the 2023 Genesis Invitational. And as a bonus, tournament host Woods will make his first competitive start since last year's Open Championship. He will be joined in the Genesis Invitational 2023 field by new world No. 1 Scottie Scheffler. The two red-hot players trying to wrestle that ranking from Scheffler -- Rory McIlroy and Jon Rahm -- also highlight the star-studded field, which features nine of the world's top 10 players. So, what does this stacked field mean for your fantasy golf picks? And is there reason to back Woods on a course where he has never won?   Â
Caesars Sportsbook lists Rahm as the 7-1 favorite, followed by McIlroy (10-1) and Scheffler (10-1), in its latest 2023 Genesis Invitational odds. Four other players are 20-1 or shorter in the Genesis Invitational 2023 field -- Xander Schauffele (14-1), Justin Thomas (15-1), Tony Finau (18-1) and Max Homa (20-1). Woods is priced at 120-1.Â
Which players can you trust for your Genesis Invitational 2023 fantasy golf picks? Before you bet the 2023 Genesis Invitational or lock in any Fantasy golf lineups, you NEED to see the Fantasy golf rankings from Fantasy expert Jim Holliman.
Holliman has been a writer and editor for nearly 25 years and has been playing and following the game closely for more than three decades. The Florida-based writer knows what it takes to win on the PGA Tour and how the players' games fit the courses.
The golf expert has been on a roll on his picks since last season. At last week's Phoenix Open, four of the expert's top eight picks finished in the top 10, a group that included winner Scheffler. At Pebble Beach, six of Holliman's picks finished in the top 15, including champion Justin Rose and top-five finishers Denny McCarthy and Keith Mitchell.Â
Last season, Holliman NAILED the Tour Championship, saying McIlroy was the only player capable of making up a six-stroke deficit to get past Scheffler before his huge rally for the victory. Holliman also was behind Will Zalatoris (28-1) at the St. Jude and was on the money at the Wyndham Championship, with Tom Kim (35-1) among his selections. Anyone who has followed Holliman's predictions is WAY UP on their golf picks.
Now, Holliman has ranked his top players for the 2023 Genesis Invitational, and we can tell you the expert is strongly backing Rahm. The expert has learned his lesson about doubting the Spaniard, and Rahm's vastly improved play around the greens -- and nine straight top-10 finishes -- make him a must-back.
On the other hand, Holliman is fading Schauffele, who hasn't finished in the top 10 at Riviera since his debut in 2018. "He just keeps hanging around," Holliman says, "but he's rarely a true threat." The California native barely cracks the expert's top 10 for this week!
Instead, Holliman is backing several long shots, including one at around 30-1 who "finally showed some spark" last week in Scottsdale! This golfer has been trending upward, and his play at the Phoenix Open has the expert believing he could pull off a SHOCKING victory this week. If he can do it, he would bring a SIGNIFICANT payday and make an excellent pick for your Genesis Invitational 2023 Fantasy golf picks.Â
You ABSOLUTELY need to see who Holliman is touting and check out his top picks before you lock in any 2023 Genesis Invitational fantasy golf picks!
