2023 FIFA Women's World Cup Japan vs. Spain odds, picks, predictions: Best bets for Monday's match from proven soccer expert

SportsLine soccer expert Brandt Sutton has locked in his 2023 Women's World Cup picks for the matchup between Japan and Spain

The top two teams in Group C square off Monday in their final group-stage matches at the 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup, and both hope to finish at the top to forge an easier path. Spain and Japan have both clinched spots in the knockout round by winning their first two matches. The winner of the group will face the Group A runner-up, while second place means a matchup with the Group A winner. Spain are ahead on goal differential and would win the group in the event of a draw.

The match is set to kick off at 3 a.m. ET. Spain are -118 favorites (risk $118 to win $100) in Caesars Sportsbook's latest Japan vs. Spain odds, with Japan +340 underdogs. A 90-minute draw is priced at +225 and the over/under for total goals scored is 2.5. (For more soccer coverage, click here.)

Before you bet on Japan vs. Spain or make any other 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup predictions, you must see what SportsLine's soccer expert Brandt Sutton has to say.

Sutton, a former collegiate soccer player, has been SportsLine's top soccer editor for nearly five years. He has followed soccer closely for much longer and factors in managerial tactics, projected lineups and past performances to make the most-informed decisions possible, keeping his finger on the pulse of the game all over the globe.

Sutton was SportsLine's top soccer expert in 2022 with a 165-130-2 mark, returning nearly $2,200 for $100 players. He is 19-17 over his past 36 soccer picks overall and was 14-8-1 on his Champions League picks in 2023.

Sutton knows Spain are one of the favorites to win the tournament, with Caesars listing them as the +320 second choice, just behind the USWNT (+260). The Spaniards are the sixth-ranked team in the world, five spots ahead of Japan. La Roja also have won three of the past four meetings. They have outscored their two WWC opponents 8-0. Alba Redondo and Jennifer Hermoso have each scored two goals, and Alexia Putellas has won the Ballon d'Or in consecutive years.

The expert has also considered that Japan haven't conceded a goal while scoring seven. They are +1800 to win the title, behind only five other teams, and they have had a lot of success at the Women's World Cup. Japan will make their fourth straight trip to the knockout stage, and they won the 2011 World Cup and lost to the USWNT in the 2015 final. Hinata Miyazawa has scored twice, and Mina Tanaka scored her 25th international goal in a 5-0 victory against Zambia.

Sutton has taken an in-depth look at the Spain vs. Japan matchup and made his picks. He is leaning Over the goal total, and he has locked in his CONFIDENT best bet! You ABSOLUTELY need to see his picks and analysis before making any selections of your own.
