Liverpool are looking for a return to form after a rough English Premier League season, and a strong finish should boost the team's confidence heading into the 2023-24 campaign. The Reds closed the season on a 7-2-0 run, but the rally came too late and they finished fifth. The 2019-20 Premier League champions will miss the Champions League for the first time in eight years. Yet they still have one of the most potent attacks in the league, so manager Jurgen Klopp will try to right the ship.

The Reds battled for the title until the last day in 2021-22, finishing one point behind as Manchester City claimed their second straight title. The Citizens claimed their third in 2022-23, with Liverpool 22 points back at 19-10-9. Mohamed Salah was a solo performer for much of the campaign, and though he scored 19 goals (fourth in the league), the attack too often misfired. Luis Diaz, Darwin Nunez and Cody Gakpo should all be healthy, and Alex Mac Allister will join the squad from Brighton. With more moves expected this summer, Liverpool expect to be right in the mix for a title.

Liverpool are the +850 third favorites in Caesars Sportsbook's 2023-24 EPL futures, right on the heels of 2022-23 runners-up Arsenal (+800) and and well behind favorite Manchester City. The three-time defending champions are the clear top choice at -175. Manchester United (+1000), Chelsea (+1600) and Newcastle (+1800) are the only other teams priced shorter than 50-1.

The 2023-24 English Premier League season kicks off Aug. 11 with Manchester City visiting newly-promoted Burnley in the Friday opener. United also get a prime game in Matchweek 1, as they host West Ham on Monday, Aug. 14.
