2022 Stanley Cup Final Avalanche vs. Lightning line, picks: Advanced computer NHL model releases selections for Game 3 matchup

SportsLine's projection model generated selections for Monday's Stanley Cup Final matchup between the Colorado Avalanche and the Tampa Bay Lightning

The 2022 Stanley Cup Finals continue at 8 p.m. ET on Monday with a Game 3 matchup between the Tampa Bay Lightning and the Colorado Avalanche. Tampa Bay is a slight -115 favorite (risk $115 to win $100) at Caesars Sportsbook. The over-under for total goals is set at six (see up-to-date odds for every game this week on our NHL odds page).

Before making any Avalanche vs. Lightning picks, you NEED to check out the NHL predictions from the SportsLine Projection Model.

The SportsLine Projection Model simulates each NHL game 10,000 times. It enters the second week of the 2022 Stanley Cup Final on a 23-18 run on its top-rated NHL side picks. Anybody who has followed it has seen profitable returns.

The model knows Colorado is on a roll. The Avalanche have a +33 goal differential and a 14-2 record in the playoffs, headlined by a 7-0 win in Game 2. That was the second-largest margin of victory in a shutout in Stanley Cup Finals history, and Colorado attempted 60 shots in the last contest. Colorado has at least three goals in 10 straight games, and the Avalanche have a long track record after a 56-win season.

The model also knows Tampa Bay is the first team in more than three decades to reach three straight Stanley Cup Finals. The Lightning won't be overwhelmed by the moment as a result, and Tampa Bay has been excellent at home this season. The Lightning finished in the top ten of the NHL in both goals and goals allowed during the regular season. Tampa Bay also has top-tier talent all over the roster and a goalie many believe to be the best in the game.

Now, it has set its sights on Avalanche vs. Lightning. We can tell you the model is leaning over the total, and it also says one side of the money line has ALL the value! You ABSOLUTELY need to see it before locking in any NHL picks.
