2022 NFL receiving touchdown leader odds: Chiefs' Travis Kelce, Raiders' Davante Adams in two-man race down stretch

It appears that the player who leads the NFL in receiving TDs this season will come from the AFC West.

There's just two weeks to go in the 2022-23 NFL regular season, and it appears to be a two-man race to lead the league in receiving touchdowns. Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce and Las Vegas Raiders receiver Davante Adams are tied for the lead with 12. Kelce is the -100 favorite at DraftKings on this prop with Adams at +100, but it could be that neither plays in both of his team's final games.

Kansas City already has won the AFC West and could still claim the conference's top seed if it finishes one game ahead of Buffalo. Both have 12-3 records, but the Bills hold the head-to-head tiebreaker. The Chiefs visit Denver on Sunday and then host the Raiders in Week 18. It's certainly possible that head coach Andy Reid rests Kelce and other key players in that Las Vegas matchup ahead of a possible Wild Card Weekend game.

Kelce's 12 TD grabs are a career high, but he hasn't had one in four straight games. The last tight end to win the receiving TD crown was Rob Gronkowski with a position-record 17 in 2011 with the Patriots. The most recent Chiefs player to win it was receiver Dwayne Bowe with 15 in 2010.

In Saturday's win over Seattle, Kelce hauled in his 800th career reception, making him just the fifth tight end in NFL history to hit that milestone. He joined Tony Gonzalez, Jason Witten, Antonio Gates and Shannon Sharpe on that list. Kelce was the fastest tight end to reach 800.

Adams almost surely will not reach his career high of 18 TD catches, which he set in 2020 with Green Bay. Those 18 scoring receptions led the league. This is Adams' sixth season in double digits. He has gone three straight games without a score. Las Vegas (6-9) is technically still alive for an AFC wild-card spot but would need to win out and essentially get a miracle elsewhere. If Miami wins at New England on Sunday, the Raiders are out. They also would be eliminated if the Jets win in Seattle. Las Vegas plays at home this week vs. San Francisco.

The Raiders could choose to sit quarterback Derek Carr and Adams in Week 18 rather than risk injury – especially if the Raiders plan to move on from Carr this offseason.

The only other betting options on this prop are Bills receiver Stefon Diggs and Eagles wideout AJ Brown. Both are +2000 and both have 10 TD grabs.
