Some interesting early-season trends with the host Mastodons, whose experienced roster has scored 77 or more points in seven of tis last eight games en route to scoring at a brisk 82 ppg clip. Rapid-fire IPFW shoots more than 60 times per games and features a veteran, balanced lineup with four double-digit scorers led by former UIC G Jalen Jackson (19.1 ppg) and sr. G Rasheed Bello (14.4 ppg), and the Mastodons are not surprisingly 6-2 over their last eight. Meanwhile, rival IU Indy is tallying at 78 pg thanks in good part to a couple of D-II adds, wing Paul Zilinskas (18.7 ppg) & G Jarvis Walker (16.3 ppg), who came along with new HC Paul Corsaro from U-Indianapolis.
