The Coach tosses out the SportsLine Play of the Day, He notes that Matt Severance is on a 60-35 NHL run, and backs his pick of the Penguins -150 over the Rangers at 6 p.m. ET.
Mike's favorite pick for Tuesday is Pittsburgh -3 over Miami (Fla.) at 2 p.m. ET. He says both teams have been through dramatic and disappointing campaigns, but Pitt is simply the better squad. They have the best player in this game in Justin Champagnie, and he questions Miami's motivation.
Zack is on Cal State Fullerton -6 over Cal Poly at 9 p.m. ET, pointing out that the Titans have covered in five of their last six. Larry is going with Notre Dame -8 over Wake Forest at 7 p.m. ET. He says the Fighting Irish now have the confidence to believe they can make a strong ACC tourney run. "You have two bad teams going against each other. But there's a big difference. Notre Dame just beat Florida State and that's given them a huge lift going into this tournament," he says of the Fighting Irish. "They have a good history to lean on. They're playing with confidence. Wake Forest comes in having lost seven straight. They haven't covered in any of the last six. Many of them were blowout losses."
