Cowboys vs. Packers NFL Week 10 odds, trends: Aaron Rodgers facing longest home odds of career

The slumping Green Bay Packers are +5 at home vs. Dallas on Sunday.

When the NFL schedule was released in May, this Sunday's Dallas at Green Bay matchup looked like one of the most important games in the NFC this season. That's not exactly the case now with the Packers a shockingly bad 3-6 and on a five-game losing streak. Green Bay is +5 at Caesars Sportsbook, the first time Aaron Rodgers has been a home underdog of more than three points. It's also the return to Green Bay for Cowboys and former Packers coach Mike McCarthy.

In his career as a home dog, Rodgers is 4-2-1 straight up and 5-1-1 against the spread. The last time he was one was Week 12 last year against the Los Angeles Rams at +1.5. Rodgers threw for 307 yards and two scores in a 36-28 win.

The Green Bay offense is clearly broken after managing just nine points against a terrible Lions defense in a loss Sunday in Detroit. Rodgers was picked off three times. All three picks were within the Lions' 25-yard line and two of those were within the red zone. He had never thrown two red zone interceptions in his career before Sunday. Meanwhile, Rodgers' former favorite target Davante Adams had 10 catches for 146 yards and two touchdowns for the Raiders on Sunday.

Rodgers, who re-signed with the Packers in March, added that he doesn't regret not retiring prior to the start of what's been a challenging season.

"When I decided to come back, it was all-in, and I don't make decisions and then hindsight 20/20 have regrets about big decisions like that. So, I was all-in, and this is a lot of life lessons, for sure, this year, but luckily it's not over. There's still a lot of games left. We'll be counted out, probably by many, and we'll see how we respond," he said.

Green Bay lost two receivers (Romeo Doubs, ankle, and Christian Watson, evaluated for a concussion) and running back Aaron Jones (ankle) to injury during the game and already was without Randall Cobb. The Packers think Jones will be able to play this week.

The news isn't nearly as good on pass-rusher Rashan Gary, as he suffered a torn ACL and his season is over. Gary had six sacks, seven tackles for losses, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery prior to sustaining his injury. His 31 quarterback pressures are third in the NFL.

"It's a tremendous loss -- not only just from obviously a production standpoint, just, man, he is a guy that just competes at the highest level," head coach Matt LaFleur said.

In addition, the season might be over for cornerback Eric Stokes. He had a boot on his right foot and was on crutches after he suffered ankle and knee injuries on Sunday.

Green Bay now has a season over/under win total of 6.5 (Over is -140 favorite) and is +650 to make the playoffs, with No at -1100.
