2020 NFL schedule: Odds on which team Cowboys will host on Thanksgiving

The 2020 NFL schedule will be released Thursday night. Which team will the Dallas Cowboys host on Thanksgiving? SportsLine oddsmakers list the options.

The marquee day of any NFL regular season is Thanksgiving as those three games -- since 2006 there have been three -- always draw huge television ratings as well as betting action at sportsbooks like William Hill. Turkey and football just go together, and few people are working. With all due respect to the Detroit Lions in the early window as well as the prime-time matchup, the glamour game annually features the Dallas Cowboys, America's Team, hosting whatever opponent at 4:30 p.m. ET.

The Cowboys are usually a good bet on Turkey Day, going 31-20-1 straight up all-time. They were upset last year, though, by Buffalo. With the 2020 NFL schedule out Thursday night, SportsLine oddsmakers have released moneyline odds on which team Dallas will host on Nov. 26.

Cleveland Browns (+200): There has been some scuttlebutt on social media that the Browns will be the choice, but nothing more than rumors. It would make some sense as the Browns are a "hot" team entering 2020 – they were entering last year, too, and flopped – and haven't appeared on Thanksgiving Day since 1989.

San Francisco 49ers (+250): This has the potential to be one of the biggest games in the NFC this season with the 49ers as defending conference champions and +325 favorites at William Hill sportsbook to repeat. The Niners last played on the holiday in 2014. There's also a decent chance they host the Thanksgiving prime-time game.

Pittsburgh Steelers (+400): The Cowboys and Steelers are scheduled to open the preseason in the Hall of Fame Game on Aug. 6 – although the coronavirus could change that. The Steelers played the Cowboys on Thanksgiving once before in 1991. That was Chuck Noll's last season with Pittsburgh. Dallas won the game 20-10.

Philadelphia Eagles (+500): These teams played for the de-facto NFC East title in Week 16 last year, with the Eagles winning at home. Philly last visited Big D on the holiday in 2014.

New York Giants (+700): The Giants aren't expected to be very good again this season, but if the NFL is pushing division games to the back end of the schedule as has been reported, then they could slip in here. New York hasn't played Dallas on Thanksgiving since 1992.

Arizona Cardinals (+750): The Cardinals are a rising team with second-year quarterback Kyler Murray and the trade acquisition of DeAndre Hopkins. This would be a good spot for the NFL to showcase them. The Cards haven't played on the holiday since 2008.

Washington Redskins (+1500): Washington played Dallas on Thanksgiving in 2018. Too recent.

Atlanta Falcons (+2000): Very unlikely because Atlanta has played in the prime-time Thanksgiving game the past two years vs. the Saints.

NFL pick: Browns -- they are way overdue.
