Rockets vs. Bulls injury report, odds, spread: Otto Porter, John Wall, Danuel House out; Victor Oladipo, DeMarcus Cousins, Eric Gordon will play Monday

Victor Oladipo will make his Houston Rockets debut Monday in Chicago, but the Rockets will again be without John Wall.

The Chicago Bulls will play their first home game since Jan. 3 on Monday night when they host the Houston Rockets, who are currently two-point favorites on the NBA odds at William Hill Sportsbook even though they will be without starters John Wall and Danuel House. However, Eric Gordon and DeMarcus Cousins both will play through minor injuries and two-time former Pacers All-Star Victor Oladipo will make his Houston debut. The Bulls will not have small forward Otto Porter due to a lower-back injury.

It doesn't sound like Porter is really all that injured but that the team simply doesn't want to play him in the second of a back-to-back. The Bulls were 117-101 upset winners in Dallas on Sunday behind 29 points and 10 rebounds from Lauri Markkanen. Porter had 14 points and nine rebounds off the bench and is averaging 12.5 points and 6.7 rebounds this season. The past five times he has scored in double figures, the Bulls have won. They also are 4-1 against the spread in their past five in the second of a back-to-back.

Chicago was supposed to play a home game last Tuesday vs. Boston but it was postponed due to COVID issues on the Celtics. Thus, the Bulls have played their past six games away.

Houston is 1-1 SU and ATS since trading James Harden last week, winning and losing in San Antonio on Thursday and Saturday, respectively. Wall missed them both with left knee soreness and he'll need at least one more game on the bench. House remains away from the team in self-isolation.

Cousins is dealing with right ankle soreness and Gordon left lower leg tightness but both will be in there barring something unforeseen. So will Oladipo, who came over from Indiana as an off-shoot of the Harden trade (for Caris LeVert). The remaining portion of the four-team trade was finalized Saturday. Oladipo is one of just three NBA players averaging at least 20.0 points, 5.0 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 1.5 steals this season. There are reports he doesn't want to stay in Houston and is eyeing a possible trade to Miami. Oladipo is set for free agency after this year.

Houston has won seven straight against Chicago, the Rockets' longest-ever winning streak in the series. It also has won the past four in the Windy City. Houston has failed to cover four of its past five as a favorite overall, however.
