2022 Masters weather forecast at Augusta, Round 1 tee times, odds: Tiger Woods goes off Thursday morning 10:34 with Louis Oosthuizen, Joaquin Niemann

Tiger Woods said Tuesday he will play in the Masters, and he'll tee off Thursday morning.

As expected, when Tiger Woods held a press conference today, he said he plans to play in the 2022 Masters – his first official PGA Tour event since a T38 finish at the November 2020 Masters when Woods was the defending champion. Tiger has taken incredible betting action already at Caesars Sportsbook and is +4500 to win a record-tying sixth green jacket. If he does win, it will go down as one of the greatest sports comebacks in American history. The weather looks good for the tournament, but it could be windy a few days.

"As of right now I feel like I am going to play," he said Tuesday. "I'm going to play nine holes [Wednesday]. My recovery has been good. I've been very excited about how I've recovered each and every day, and that's been the challenge. That's why I came up here [last Tuesday] and tested it out for 27 holes, because we played the par-3 course. Charlie [his son] couldn't help himself. I was able to play 27 holes that day and at home testing it.

"But it's the recovery. How am I going to get all the swelling out and recover for the next day? My team has been fantastic and worked very hard. So we've got another day of nine more holes and then come game time. ... I can hit it just fine. I don't have any qualms about what I can do physically from a golf standpoint. It's now walking is the hard part. This is normally not an easy walk to begin with. Now, given the conditions that my leg is in, it gets even more difficult."

When asked if he feels like he can win, Woods replied: "I do."

Woods is scheduled to tee off Thursday at 10:34 a.m. ET alongside South Africa's Louis Oosthuizen and Chile's Joaquin Niemann – neither of whom has won the Masters (Oosthuizen was a runner-up in 2012). The threesome will tee off Friday at 1:41 p.m. ET. That Woods gets to tee off late Friday after a morning Thursday start could be a bit of an advantage as he will have more time for his surgically repaired leg to recover following his first round.

Tiger is +110 to make the cut and -150 to miss. Woods owns the best career made cut percentage of 96 (22-for-23) of any player at the Masters since it first implemented a cut in 1957. Tiger's lone missed cut was in 1996. To finish as the top American, Woods is +3000.

Caesars also has a couple of parlay boosts: Tiger to win the Masters and the Tampa Bay Bucs to win Super Bowl 57 at +50000 and Tiger to win and the Yankees to win the 2022 World Series at +75000.

As for the weather, thunderstorms are forecast in Augusta today and tomorrow, which should soften the greens and make conditions better for scoring – although it also may mean some guys can't practice those two days. Rain shouldn't be a factor starting Thursday but winds could be.
