Strategic betting on the NFL Draft is a must. It's prudent to allot a predetermined amount of your bankroll on more likely and less profitable wagers to offset what you risk on more potentially lucrative bets.

To this point, we have identified some areas more at the top of the first round where a combination of research, reporting and common sense would point me in certain directions. Some of those markets have already moved substantially for significantly smaller returns than when we placed our wagers. These prop markets are starting to move more quickly, and once we get within a week of the draft, these odds will be long gone. Time is of the essence, and in our third round of wagers, we look at values of at least +500 that we determined were worth risking at least a small percentage of our bankroll, mostly on teams well outside of the top 10. If we hit on two of these, it will more than cover this round of total bets.

Variance is an obvious factor once we get to the back-half of the first round with the outcomes inherently impacted by what other teams have already selected, the early and late value of the particular draft class, what is or is not being offered on the trade markets while leading up to the pick and the potential interference from ownership to sway a team from what had been previously planned. With that in mind, here are the latest round of wagers I've made.

Which positions should you bet on that teams such as the Eagles, Bears, Rams and Texans will draft with their first selection? Join SportsLine right now to see Jason La Canfora's 2025 NFL Draft prop picks!
