The NHL officially put a bow on its 2022-23 season Monday night with its awards show in Nashville and to no surprise, Edmonton Oilers superstar Connor McDavid won the Hart Trophy as NHL MVP for the third time in his Hall of Famer career – and he's only 26. McDavid the clear-cut +100 favorite to win the award again next season at DraftKings.

McDavid is going to be favored to win the Hart before every season as long as he's in his prime, which will probably last at least the rest of this decade. This past season, McDavid led the Oilers to the second-most points in the Western Conference. He posted a career-high 153 points, exceeding his previous best by 30. It made him the first NHL skater since Mario Lemieux in 1995-96 to score 150 points.

McDavid also earned his first Rocket Richard Trophy with a career-best 64 goals, his fifth Art Ross Trophy for leading the league in 153 points, and his fourth Ted Lindsay Award as the NHL Players' Association's most outstanding player. McDavid matched the NHL record for individual awards in a season with four, becoming the seventh player to do so and first since Montreal goaltender Carey Price in 2014-15. McDavid became only the third four-time recipient of the NHLPA's most outstanding player award, joining Wayne Gretzky (five) and Lemieux (four).

Only three players have won the Hart Trophy at least four times, as McDavid is favored to do next summer: Eddie Shore (four), Gordie Howe (six) and Gretzky (nine). Colorado's Nathan MacKinnon (+900) and McDavid's Oilers teammate Leon Draisaitl (+1000) are the two closest behind McDavid in the 2024 Hart odds. Draisaitl won the Hart following the 2019-20 season.

Boston's Linus Ullmark won the Vezina Trophy for the first time in his career after winning the regular-season goaltending Triple Crown. He led the NHL in wins (40), GAA (1.89) and save percentage (.938) – although he and the Presidents' Trophy-winning Bruins flopped in the first round of the playoffs against Florida. Ullmark is +1800 to repeat, with the Islanders' Ilya Sorokin the +400 favorite for 2024. He was a finalist this year.

San Jose's Erik Karlsson won the Norris Trophy as the NHL's top defenseman for the third time in his career. He led all blueliners with 101 points. Karlsson is likely to be traded this summer as the Sharks are heading into a major rebuild and Karlsson's value is sky high. Karlsson is +3000 to win the award next summer. Colorado's Cale Makar is the +175 favorite after winning the 2022 Norris Trophy.

There are no odds yet on the Calder Trophy for Rookie of the Year with the draft starting Wednesday. Chicago will take generational prospect Connor Bedard at No. 1 overall, and he'll be the clear Calder favorite. Seattle center Matty Beniers won it for this past season.

The next big date will be the release of the 2023-24 schedule, which likely won't happen for at least a few weeks if history is any indication. On Sept. 23 and 24, the Coyotes and Kings will play in Melbourne in the preseason for the NHL Global Series. The upcoming season's All-Star Game is in Toronto.
