Chiefs vs. Bills injury report, betting odds: Tre'Davious White's questionable status looms large
Will Bills All-Pro cornerback Tre'Davious White play in Monday's game vs. Kansas City?
No question that the biggest injury question for Monday's rescheduled Week 6 game between the Kansas City Chiefs and Buffalo Bills from Orchard Park (5 p.m. ET kickoff) is to Bills All-Pro cornerback Tre'Davious White, who might be the best at his position in the league. He's listed as questionable after missing Week 5 with a back injury. The Bills are 5.5-point underdogs on the William Hill NFL betting odds.
Usually, when a player is listed as questionable, they play but not always. White had the same injury designation for Tuesday night's game at Tennessee and didn't go. Buffalo won its first four games with White in the lineup and allowed 42 points to the Titans. Ryan Tannehill shredded that short-handed secondary with three TD passes and just seven incompletions. AJ Brown, whom White likely would have been glued on, had seven catches for 82 yards and a score.
White, a 2017 first-round pick out of LSU, was named to the Pro Bowl and first-team All-Pro last year when he co-led the NFL with six interceptions. That earned him a four-year, $70 million extension on the eve of the 2020 season with $55 million guaranteed. At the time, White was the NFL's highest-paid cornerback but that lasted not even a week until the Rams' Jalen Ramsey got a bigger deal. White has 11 tackles and four passes defensed this year.
Meanwhile, Buffalo No. 2 wideout John Brown and linebacker Matt Milano, who both missed the Chiefs game, are questionable too. Tight end Dawson Knox has been ruled out with a calf injury.
Kansas City will not have arguably its second-best wideout in Sammy Watkins due to a hamstring injury. He has 21 catches for 222 yards and two scores. Guard Kelechi Osemele is out and offensive tackle Mitchell Schwartz questionable. Newly-signed running back Le'Veon Bell will not be able to play yet due to COVID-19 protocols.
Both the Bills and Chiefs are coming off not just straight up but against the spread losses. Buffalo has not lost consecutive games ATS since Week 7-8 of last season. Kansas City has not lost consecutive games ATS since Week 5-6 last year.
As one can see in the tweet above, weather could be a major factor for this one.
