2022 Super Bowl odds: Patrick Mahomes-led Chiefs, Tom Brady-led Buccaneers favored heading into NFL Week 1
Caesars Sportsbook has updated its Super Bowl LVI odds heading into Week 1 of the 2021 NFL schedule
The 2021 NFL schedule opened this week with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers defeating the Dallas Cowboys 31-29 in the NFL Kickoff Game. The Week 1 slate continues on Sunday and the march towards Super Bowl LVI on February 13, 2022 at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles is officially on. Despite a preseason full of quarterback competitions being settled and breakout Pro Bowl candidates emerging, not a whole lot has changed in the most recent Vegas Super Bowl 56 odds from Caesars Sportsbook.
The oddsmakers at Caesars list the Kansas City Chiefs at +500 (risk $100 to win $500) and Tampa Bay Buccaneers at +600 as the top Super Bowl 56 contenders heading into Week 1 of the 2021 NFL season. Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes is also favored to take home NFL MVP honors and should benefit from playing behind a rebuilt offensive line, which was an a glaring issue in their embarrassing Super Bowl LV loss to Tampa Bay. Meanwhile, Tom Brady and the Buccaneers were able to bring back all of the key pieces from their 2021 Super Bowl LV championship run, while also adding depth to their roster during free agency and the NFL Draft.
The Green Bay Packers' Super Bowl 2021 odds had been on and off the board for most of the offseason while the Aaron Rodgers saga played out. Now that the Vegas oddsmakers know he'll be back with Green Bay for another season, the Packers odds to win Super Bowl LVI have been set at +1400, making them one of the league's top Super Bowl contenders. Other teams expected to generate some Super Bowl 56 buzz early in the 2021 NFL season include the Buffalo Bills (+1200), Los Angeles Rams (+1400), Baltimore Ravens (+1400), and San Francisco 49ers (+1400).
