Nadal won his fifth grand slam title at Wimbledon, the first one in London. He captured his first title on grass (the first Spaniard to do so since Manuel Orantes in 1972) at the Queen's Club in London, England.
He now has won 29 titles on Tour. He won four titles on clay at the TMS Hamburg, Germany, TMS Monte-Carlo (where he also won the doubles title with Tommy Robredo), in Barcelona, Spain and at the French Open in Paris.
He claimed his fourth consecutive title in Roland-Garros, tying Bjorn Borg's record. He joins Ilie Nastase (73) and Borg (78, 80) as the only players to win the French Open without dropping a set. He is 28-0 and has lost 7 sets, 3 of them to Federer, lifetime in Roland-Garros. He is 115-2 on clay since the beginning of 2005. He is now an all-time best 22-1 lifetime in clay court finals, the only loss coming last year in Hamburg to Roger Federer. (updated 7/6/2008)
