Hornets report: Getting inside
So far the Hornets' second-round series has mirrored their first-round series, and they hope that continues. In the first round against the Mavericks, they won the first two games at home, lost Game 3 on the road, then won Game 4 on the road and closed the deal at home in Game 5. In the second round against the Spurs, they won the first two games at home, then lost Game 3 on the road, 110-99, Thursday night. They'll try to continue the repeat of the Dallas series when they play Game 4 against the Spurs on Sunday in San Antonio. SPURS 110, HORNETS 99: Tony Parker and Manu Ginobili each scored 31 points Thursday as the Spurs cut the Hornets' series lead to 2-1. Ginobili moved into the starting lineup for the first time in the series, replacing Michael Finley. The Hornets, who had dominated the second halves of the first two games in New Orleans, saw the Spurs turn that around, outscoring New Orleans, 56-43, in the second half. The Hornets had outscored the Spurs in the second half of Game 1, 56-33, and the second half of Game 2, 60-41. The Spurs made 11-of-25 three-pointers and the Hornets made 2-of-11. "Basically, they took us right out of our game," Hornets coach Byron Scott said, "and I thought we lost our composure a little bit as well." Copyright (C) 2008 The Sports Xchange.
