--Although Larry Brown hasn't coached in Charlotte since the 1970s, he still has plenty of ties here. His two daughters from his first marriage both live in Charlotte and his mother lives in a Charlotte retirement home.

--Brown has already said he'll retain Phil Ford, a fellow Tar Heel, from Vincent's staff. Brown said he prioritizes loyalty in hiring assistants, so don't be surprised if Brown associates Dave Hanners and John Kuester end up in Charlotte. Eric Snow, who played for Brown in Philadelphia, would also make sense if Snow retires as a player.
