--CB P.J. Mahone intercepted two passes to lift his season total to five. Mahone returned one pick for a 51-yard touchdown, pushing his average return to 36.4 yards.

--PK Sinisa Vrvilo booted a 31-yard field goal to extend his streak to 10 consecutive field goals made. Vrvilo's streak came to an end when he missed a 52-yarder, but he made three of his four attempts against Akron.

GAME BALL GOES TO
TB Anthony Turner -- He's becoming Bowling Green's version of former Indiana QB Antwaan Randle El. Turner tossed a 33-yard touchdown after lining up at quarterback. He also caught three passes and rushed for a team-high 104 yards.

KEEP AN EYE ON
QB Tyler Sheehan -- The old Tyler Sheehan returned -- at least the version from earlier this season. The sophomore completed 19 of his first 24 passes for 200 yards in the first half, piloting the Falcons to scores on their first four drives, including three consecutive touchdown drives.

QUOTE TO NOTE
"Coach always says that champions are crowned in November. If we can pull a couple more wins out in November, I definitely think we will be crowned." -- TB Anthony Turner on BGSU coach Gregg Brandon's late-season philosophy.
