FINAL RECORD
28-8, 13-5, second in Pac-10 Conference.
WHAT WENT RIGHT
The Lopez twins developed into dominating inside forces. Junior point guard Mitch Johnson, after an erratic campaign the year before, was very solid and had a school-record 16 assists in the second-round NCAA tourney victory over Marquette.
WHAT WENT WRONG
Juniors Lawrence Hill and Anthony Goods, two of the team's most productive and consistent players a year ago, never found a groove. Hill averaged just 8.6 points and lost his starting job a year after scoring at a 15.7 clip and earning all-Pac-10 honors. Goods' scoring dropped from 12.8 as a sophomore to 10.0 and he shot just 35 percent from 3-point range.
QUOTE TO NOTE
"That was the best team we've faced all year. It was a tough game, tough loss. They were just a little deeper than us." -- Senior forward Taj Finger on the Sweet 16 defeat to Texas.
