--The Canadiens led the NHL is power-play efficiency for a second consecutive year despite the loss of Sheldon Souray's monster shot from the point. But Boston and Philadelphia both showed the power play could be neutralized by collapsing the defense and allowing the Canadiens to shoot from outside because Montreal didn't have players to stand in front for deflections or rebounds.

--Montreal has been known as a defensive team, but the Canadiens led the league in goals-for. That should help in free agent recruiting because, in the past, skilled players have been reluctant to sign with the Canadiens for fear that their skills would be stifled in the Canadiens' system.

--While the power play was an important part of the Canadiens' offense, the team did a better job of playing in even-strength situations. As a team, the Canadiens finished plus-11 in the plus/minus ratings and ranked 10th in the NHL. That's a major improvement from their minus-29 finish in 2006-07.

QUOTE TO NOTE
"The playoffs taught our players how hard it is to win. If it was easy, 30 teams would win every year, but only one team can win. We still have a young team and we had a good regular season, but the playoffs are different." -- Canadiens coach Guy Carbonneau.

(POLL)

The Habs have a few new faces on the team this year, and have lost a few old ones.  This question is based on the understanding that we do not have Mats Sundin, and we are looking at our current roster only.

(POLL) Will Mats end up signing with the Habs?

Guy Carbonneau was recently quoted in the Montreal Gazette saying...

“The (New York) Rangers and the (Toronto) Maple Leafs have signed players and don’t have any cap room,” Carbonneau noted. The

I am however looking for any helpful suggestions for good bars, lounges, places to meet chicks in general. I'm looking out the window and see 50 different bars but I don't have time to check them all out. Especially since I broke my ankle in 4 p ...(more)
