Series MVP
Red Wings LW Johan Franzen

Franzen
Franzen turned into a scoring machine against Colorado, netting nine goals and topping Gordie Howe's franchise record for most goals in a series. He matched the output of the entire Avalanche roster. The "Mule" scored in every game during the series and registered two hat tricks. For his second hat trick in Detroit's 8-2 rout, Franzen accomplished a rare feat of scoring while at even strength, on the power play and shorthanded. Dating back to the regular season, he now has 26 goals in his last 26 games.

Expert Picks
Expert Pick Why?
Goldstein: Avs geezers aren't ready to give up their last kick at the can.
Cimilluca: Detroit should be able to slow down the reunion tour going on in Colorado.
Brown: A feisty series against the Wild was the perfect tune-up for a match with Detroit.
Cercel: A nasty rivalry renewed. Theodore is playing sharp and could be the difference.
