Series MVP
Penguins RW Marian Hossa

Hossa
Penguins GM Ray Shero should be breathing a little easier over his decision to acquire Hossa for a hefty package at the trade deadline. With the Flyers focusing on shutting down Evgeni Malkin and Sidney Crosby, Hossa took advantage of the added room and mismatches to lead Pittsburgh with nine points in the series. He registered multiple-point games in three of the five contests, including a four-point effort in the series clincher.

Expert Picks
Expert Pick Why?
Goldstein: March of the Penguins isn't ready to be stopped just yet.
Cimilluca: They have found ways to win in both up-tempo and defensive-minded games.
Brown: The Pens have the size to protect their stars and keep the Flyers honest.
Cercel: Fleury is good, but Biron will be better despite the Penguins' fire power.

First off, we in Philly had better prepare ourselves, as our road to the Stanley Cup is gonna go through Pittsburgh for quite some time....

This is a good team, one where it kills me that we had to lose Timonen (and Coburn) for this series...  After Biron, Kimmo was the one player we couldn't afford to lose...

Philly and Pitt are both young teams, so ...(more)

Well its no suprise we are the underdogs again since we are going up against a team which many people claim gave up the 1st place title so they did no have to play the Flyers and they could take on Ottawa.

So as a Flyer fan do you think they were scared of the Flyers? Think they still are? No offense to the Penguins fans out there but so far you haven't really played a good team. O ...(more)

Remember that you were a Mario Lemieux save away from being relocated....  That your team was bankrupt, with no signs of being uplifted...

Before you go buck wild about the remarkable success that has only recently been supported...  Remember the post Mario-days where you didn't support your team...  When you didn't fill the seats and watched as they slipped almos ...(more)

I would just like to point out that the Baby Pens ended the Phantoms playoff run last night as well. A sign of things to come.

Am I a Penguins Hater absolutely , Do I respect them, yes.  Crosby on the other hand should be winning medals on a the 3 meter springboard.  He's sweeter than Greg Lougayness !  Guys like Ovechkin and Malkin are real men.  Even Penguins fans got to admit that, or your a panzy just like him.  All that skill and gay as hell, don't understand it.

I can't remember both semi finals in the NHL that I have looked as forward as these matchups.  With that said, and maybe I'm nit picking, why the heck is the Pens-Flyers not starting on Wed?  The NHL has all of this momentum and they elect to have 3 days of no hockey.  Bummer.  Have to wait a couple of more days.
