| Date | Pos | Player | Injury | NFL Status | Fantasy Analysis |
| 4/23/08 | WR | David Tyree | Knee | | Tyree will be remembered for his 32-yard circus catch that helped propel the Giants to their win in Super Bowl XLII, not for his four-catch, 35-yard regular-season effort. Tyree also scored in the Super Bowl and finished the postseason with four catches for 47 yards. He might be a hero in New York, but Fantasy owners shouldn't reach for him in 2008 unless he makes a leap up the Giants' depth chart this offseason and training camp, and that goes double now that he's hurt. It's best to keep him off of Fantasy rank lists at this point. (Updated 04/23/2008) |
| 4/21/08 | RB | Brandon Jacobs | Wrist | | Jacobs should be fine to start 2008. He finished last year, his first as a starter, with 1,009 rushing yards and four touchdowns and 23 catches for 174 yards and two touchdowns in 11 games. Jacobs will likely share time with Bradshaw and Derrick Ward, but he remains a quality No. 2 Fantasy RB. Jacobs will be in a contract year in 2008, so he'll have plenty of motivation to play big and stay on the field. Look for his touchdowns to increase and just hope the wrist doesn't cause him any setbacks. (Updated 04/21/2008) |
| 4/11/08 | LB | Mathias Kiwanuka | Leg | | When healthy, Kiwanuka had enough upside to be a low-end No. 2 Fantasy LB. We'll keep tabs on his progress through the offseason. (Updated 01/04/2008) |
| 2/13/08 | TE | Jeremy Shockey | Leg | | Last year, Shockey had 57 catches for 619 yards and three touchdowns in 14 games before he broke his leg. He'd still be the Giants' starter if he's with the club in 2008, but he will likely lose some catches to second-year TE Kevin Boss. If he signs elsewhere, though, his upside is greater since he wouldn't be sharing the receiving duties with any other tight ends. We would be tickled if he ended up with Seattle. Go into 2008 with Shockey as a low-end No. 1 Fantasy TE and hope he can return to his elite status wherever he ends up. We'll cover the news on Shockey as it develops. (Updated 04/23/2008) |
| 2/5/08 | RB | Robert Douglas | Knee | | This player doesn't produce enough stats on a regular basis to consider for Fantasy play. Leave him out of draft plans. (Updated 02/05/2008) |
| 2/5/08 | RB | Jim Finn | Shoulder | | Finn doesn't produce enough stats on a regular basis to consider for Fantasy play. Leave him out of draft plans. (Updated 02/05/2008) |
| 2/5/08 | WR | Mike Jennings | Achilles' | | Jennings will compete for a spot on the Giants' WR depth chart this summer in training camp. Don't expect him to be a valuable Fantasy asset in 2008 league play. (Updated 02/05/2008) |
| 2/5/08 | TE | Darcy Johnson | Knee | | Obviously, Johnson doesn't regularly see enough playing time to warrant Fantasy use. Leave him out of draft plans for now. (Updated 02/05/2008) |
| 2/5/08 | RB | Derrick Ward | Ankle | | Ward will compete with Bradshaw to be the No. 2 running back with the Giants behind Jacobs. Look for the two to split time. At this point, Ward should only be drafted in deep Fantasy leagues until it's determined how many touches he'll get for the Giants in 2008. (Updated 03/14/2008) |
