Raiders sign WR Drew Carter: The Raiders have added another wide receiver, agreeing to terms Wednesday on a $2 million, one-year contract with free-agent Drew Carter. Carter's agent, Joel Segal, confirmed the deal, which was later announced by the Raiders. Carter set career highs last season with 38 catches for 517 yards and four touchdowns for the Panthers. (Updated 03/13/2008).

Fantasy Analysis
Interesting note: Carter is a four-year veteran, but a knee injury wiped out his rookie year, so 2007 was like his third year in the league. Or perhaps 2008 will be like that since he only played in three games and caught five passes in three games as a sophomore. Carter is a speed receiver with good height, but not a physical player. Expect him to be a situational deep-threat option for Oakland, which might suit him well because the Raiders will be playing from behind a lot and have a QB-cannon in JaMarcus Russell. Fantasywise, Carter is at best a reserve unless he fits into a starting job. He does carry a little bit of sleeper potential. (Updated 03/13/2008).
